ECE460 Advanced Data Management

Management of Big Data and NoSQL Databases (DBs), Aggregate data models, Models and frameworks of distributed processing, Consistency and NoSQL DBs, Types of NoSQL DBs (key-value, document, column, graph). Efficient processing of demanding queries on big data (advanced indexes, processing in multicore and in parallel and distributed environments, exploitation of SSDs).

Through this course, a student is expected to:

• Acquire knowledge on NoSQL Databases (DBs), Aggregate data models, Models and frameworks of distributed processing, Consistency and NoSQL DBs, Types of NoSQL DBs
• Develop skills on modeling, design and implementation of NoSQL DBs
• Acquire knowledge on efficient processing of demanding queries on big data
• Develop skills on design and programming of algorithms for efficient processing of demanding queries on big data
